Nobody lands in our home cold. Two of the young men living independently with us now came up through the programs, a social outing first, then respite weekends, then a home of their own. By the time someone moves in, they already know the team and the team already know them.

That history is the whole point. Moving out of the family home is a big moment, and it goes better when it is the next step on a path rather than a jump into the unknown.

Rachel, who founded Adventure Support, is a nurse. In a home that means health things get noticed early and followed up, medications and appointments are handled properly, and a change in mood gets asked about rather than missed. You will not see it as clinical fuss. You will see it as your son or daughter seeming steadier, and more themselves.
