We are a Redcliffe team, so our programs happen where your family already lives. Our Weekend Warriors and social programs put your son or daughter with a crew their own age, doing things they actually chose, with a worker who pulls up in their car like a mate rather than a bus that everyone can see coming.

Most families meet us for the social side first. It gives a young adult somewhere to be each week, a few faces that stay the same, and a reason to get out the door.

The reason we are worth knowing locally is what comes next. A social outing can grow into a respite weekend away, and for some young adults a respite weekend becomes a home of their own through supported independent living.

The same people are there at every step, so nobody has to start again with strangers when the bigger moments arrive. Two of the young men now living independently with us started out on the social programs.

Rachel, who founded Adventure Support, trained as a nurse, and that way of paying attention does not switch off on a weekend. A change in mood gets noticed and asked about, and health things that had been quietly slipping through tend to get picked up.

Being local means we know the Redcliffe area, we pick up door to door, and getting to a program is never the hard part of the week.

Our respite weekends give young adults their first nights away from home with a small group they already know, and give families a genuine break at the same time.

We also run supported independent living in the area and currently have room for a third housemate. If a home of their own is somewhere on the horizon, it is worth an early conversation.
